The Color Green is Becoming Ubiquitous

The push for utilizing more energy efficient techniques and green methods is not a new phenomenon. For many decades its been discussed, but in only recent years has it been broadcasted to the masses as something of much importance. In my Culture and Communication in the Global Marketplace course taught Dilip Gaonkar, I am given a multifaceted look into the many dilemmas that face the current global market. A history of what has happened prior to his point, provides me a solid foundation in looking at the bigger picture. In my assignments and readings, I am finding that the push for green is something of much significance.

As a communication practitioner, I find myself always thinking of what next and how I can utilize the conversations in class and bring them to fruition.

With the green conversation at the crosshairs, I am seeing that cornering alternatives to fossil fuels and figuring out ways to be less wasteful is beyond significant. Because of this heavy push in the green industry, I see it being lucrative for many. The green initiative has and will continue to include every aspect of the media. This is where we come in! This industry is going to be seeking the best and the brightest to engage. Those in the mass media will be called upon to catch the interest and make it glitzy and glamourous to save resources and uphold energy efficiency.

I have said it before and I will say it again, the MSC program provides you with an array of skills that will benefit you in almost any industry. We communication practitioners will need to make it happen!
